As avid travelers, we’ve always relied on TripAdvisor to help us find great food, hotels and activities pretty much anywhere in the world. Google is great, but the quality of reviews and the fact that TripAdvisor is an older platform, more focused on international travel has always made it our personal favorite. So when we started What the Crust, we often dreamed about one day touting a TripAdvisor award on our storefront. Not that we needed any more appreciation or recognition than from our own patrons and friends, but a TripAdvisor award would mean that we were attracting a global traveller, Egyptians and tourists alike. This has always been something we felt was important; there are great places to eat everywhere in the world, and we feel Egypt should be no exception. We’ve travelled far and wide to have a great local - or international dish - and most of the time, the recommendations have came from TripAdvisor. We don’t see why tourists coming to Egypt can’t have the same experience.

So obviously, we’re very proud that today, we’ve been been awarded TripAdvisor’s 2021 Traveler’s Choice Award. Woohoo!

What does this mean? Here’s TripAdvisor’s definition verbatim from their press kit.

This achievement celebrates businesses that consistently deliver fantastic experiences to diners around the globe, having earned great traveler reviews on Tripadvisor over the last 12 months. As challenging as the past year was, What the Crust stood out by continuously delighting diners.

As proud as we are, we’re also very humbled by everyone’s great reception and support. We take this award and what it signifies very seriously, and - as with everything else we do - we promise to do our level best to live up to the standards we believe in.
